Petroleum inspector said there is no shortage of fuel in the country as quotas are being bought in the market
There are still 45 million gallons of gasoline and 70 million gallons of diesel in the market, while people are queuing to buy kerosene in the market, according to the Petroleum Products Inspection Department.
Today, about 45 million gallons of gasoline and 70 million gallons of diesel are currently in stock at the port, including the Thilawa storage depot.
Domestic motor oil is exported to Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Malaysia and South Korea are the main importers, and there are no closed shops except for petrol retailers, which have applied to the department for permission.
“We are cooperating with the Petroleum Importers and Distributors Association (MPTA) and will return to normal soon,” the statement said.
